About Us

Green Event Shop.com was started by Nan Leuschel and John Oppedahl in February of 2008. Our mission to: play a small part in advancing the green movement; address global warming by offering “disposables” made from plants rather than plastic; and divert organic waste away from ocean litter and landfills and into compost. Starting in March 2009, Green Event Shop became the sole enterprise of Nan Leuschel.

Nan is a native of Washington State who now lives in San Francisco.  A graduate of Stanford, she has worked as an advisor to political campaigns, as an editor for union publications and, most recently, as a public policy and green practices consultant for a clients throughout California.

Green Event Shop offers affordable plates, cups, utensils and other party supplies for green events at home, work and play.  Everything we sell is: made from plants; 100% biodegradable; ecofriendly; and compostable, so that your “trash” can go to nourish local gardens and parks.
